Rockville Metro Club Announcement
Dear Members of RMC, AA, NA, Alanon, and the fellowships that call RMC home,
The Rockville Metro Club will be closing and moving out of its physical location at 12319 Washington Avenue in Rockville on October 31, 2025. This location—and only this location—will be closed. BUT THE RUMORS ARE NOT TRUE – RMC IS NOT CLOSING. We are temporarily moving our meetings to a primarily online format to save money for a move to another physical location. This temporary move online will save us around $3,000 a month, while we continue to receive generous contributions from our meeting attendees and members.
On behalf of all members of RMC and its Board, we stress that our group will never stop in our efforts to affect our primary purpose to CONTINUE to carry the message to every alcoholic and addict that still suffers. We owe a debt to all our current and past RMC members. With this in mind, please note the following:
• Starting Zoom Meetings
Anyone interested in starting a new online meeting, please ask the Board for approval. The RMC Zoom account has some meetings already scheduled, which are listed on rockvillemetroclub.org, but we can hold online meetings 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year through Zoom. Starting a new Zoom meeting is an amazing opportunity for service!
• Continued Search for Physical Location
We have not stopped and will continue to search for a permanent physical location. We have a commercial real estate agent to assist in our efforts to locate a more permanent home for live meetings of AA, NA, Alanon, and the other fellowships that considered RMC home. We have already viewed several locations, but we have not rented them due to the high rent proposed by the owners. Please approach the Board if you have any good leads.
• Live Celebration Meetings
We will continue to meet in both in person and online for our Sunday, 11:00 a.m. Celebration Meetings. Our members have generously financed a location for us to hold our Sunday Celebration Meetings at 11:00 a.m. both live and online. The in-person meetings on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. will be moved to the Tilden Woods Park Activity Building, located at 6800 Tilden Lane, Rockville, Maryland 20852, less than 3 miles from our current location. We will have use of the Building every Sunday, beginning November 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
